ACADEMICS
Social Studies
Social Studies is an essential part of our curriculum, engaging students in every grade with connections to community and world events. We explore our place in society and examine how Christianity has both influenced and been influenced by our culture. Our comprehensive curriculum covers government, geography, California state history, colonial history, and world history, through a biblical perspective. Join us as we through the past and present, discovering the interconnectedness of faith and society.

Science
Welcome to our science program, where curiosity and excitement come together! Our K-5 students enjoy hands-on lessons with Mystery Science, igniting their imagination and passion for learning. At the same time, our 6-8th grade students embark on thrilling experiments led by our enthusiastic science teacher, making science a favorite subject. Come along on adventure of discovery and exploration!

Math
At YVCS, we build strong mathematical foundations through a blend of conceptual understanding and problem-solving. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade use eSingapore Math, which emphasizes mastery through visual models and hands-on strategies. In grades 6–8, we transition to BJU Press to deepen critical thinking and prepare students for the challenges of high school algebra and geometry.

English Language
Our ELA program lays a strong foundation in reading, writing, and communication. In the early grades, we use Abeka to build essential phonics and reading skills. As students progress, we shift to BJU Press with a strong emphasis on grammar, writing, and literature. By junior high, instruction becomes even more focused and rigorous, equipping students to become confident, articulate English language masters.
Art
At YVCS, art is thoughtfully integrated across subjects to enrich student learning and expression. With the help of dedicated parent volunteers, students engage in creative projects that connect to what they’re studying in history, science, and Bible. Art becomes a meaningful way for students to explore their faith, reflect on society, and deepen their understanding through hands-on creativity.

Enrichment
Our enrichment programs support the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
In PE, students build coordination, teamwork, and confidence through outdoor movement, sports skill development, and health education that covers nutrition, stress management, and lifelong fitness habits.
In Music, students in K–5 participate in choir, learning to worship and sing with joy and excellence. In grades 6–8, students can join our worship band, developing musical skills and spiritual leadership.
Our Library provides a welcoming space for students to discover a love of reading. K–3 students enjoy read-aloud time with our parent librarian, while students in grades 4–8 have access to a carefully curated selection of books aligned with our Christian values.
