YVCS celebrated its 35th Anniversary in the fall of 2007. Having begun in 1972, the men of both the board and administration were committed to setting a high academic standard and maintaining it down through the years.
The school has been on three campuses since it began. It started at the Evangelical
Free Church in Walnut Creek (now NorthCreek Church) with a pre-school and added K – 8th as it began to grow. After several years, the school relocated to Clayton Valley Church and finally to the campus of Concord Bible Church where it has operated for 21 years.
Over the thirty-six years, the school has had four administrators and maintains a godly and quality staff of teachers and workers (many with longevity). YVCS is not only committed to academic excellence, but also to a quality music program (band and choir).
YVCS partners with Christian parents as it is a “discipleship school,” which means it works with parents who are followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that the education of children is the responsibility of parents and we come along side the parents to support and encourage.
The Apostle Paul instructs us in Colossians 2:6-8 to guard against the “empty philosophies” of sinful men and be grounded in the truth. We are committed to training our students to form their own worldview based upon the written Word, the Scriptures; and the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our curriculum is thoroughly Christian in content and our teachers delight in integrating each subject with the Word of God.
YVCS is also a proud charter member of the Association of Christian Schools International of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
